New Delhi:
An unconfirmed number of Maoists were killed and two soldiers injured in a clash in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district days before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
News agency ANI quoted senior police officer IK Elesela as saying that the encounter was still going on.
Kanker district will go to the polls on April 26 – the second phase of the seven-phase national election.

There was another clash in the area last month in which a Maoist was killed and security forces seized a gun, some explosives and other incriminating materials.
In another incident, an insurgent was killed in Dantewada district of the state.
