Indian stock market indices, Sensex and Nifty 50 saw deep losses in early trade on Wednesday.

Indian stock market indices Sensex and Nifty 50 witnessed sharp losses in early trade on Wednesday after index heavyweight HDFC Bank reported lower-than-expected quarterly results.

Benchmark Sensex opened more than 1,100 points lower, while Nifty fell 395 points to trade below 21,650.

BSE Sensex was trading 811 points or 1.11% lower at 72,317. At around 9.24 am, Nifty50 was trading at 21,809, down 223 points or 1.01%.

All sectoral indices are trading in the red and banking stocks were the biggest losers after HDFC Bank’s Q3 results.

The broader market, Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 indices were also trading sharply lower.
