Domestic stocks opened high a day after the EU medium-term budget for 2024-25 was released. On Friday, February 2, the BSE Sensex opened 332.26 points or 0.46 per cent higher at 71,977.56, while the NSE Nifty gained 200 points or 0.92 per cent to trade at 21,897.80.
Of the 30 stocks on Sensex, 28 companies were trading in the green in opening trade. ICICI Bank, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Reliance Industries and Power Grid were among the top gainers, rising 2.15%. On the other hand, Larsen & Toubro and Maruti suffered the biggest decline, down 0.42%.
