Self-reliant India campaign completes two years of journey, moves towards awakening the spirit of entrepreneurship

An important step towards strengthening India’s spirit in entrepreneurship and developing an unemployment and poverty free country. Swavalambi Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) completed its two-year journey on 12 January.

Officially launched in the year 2022, the aim of this initiative was to develop a ‘Prosperous India’ free from unemployment and poverty.

It initially started with the coming together of eight organizations working in the fields of labour, farming, cooperatives, small enterprises, education and consumer affairs, however currently 32 organizations are associated with SBA.

Between April and June 2023, the ‘campaign’ conducted nationwide workshops across all states, which were attended by over 6,500 participants. Subsequently, from July 30 to October 10, 2023, a nationwide entrepreneurship promotion program was conducted by the SBA, spanning 4413 different programs in 511 districts.

This phase of the program saw participation from more than 8 lakh youth. In these programmes, around 3,938 entrepreneurs were identified for recognition and facilitation.

Around 2,701 high schools and intermediate colleges, 1,555 institutes and colleges and 155 universities conducted entrepreneur development programs with the aim of developing the spirit of entrepreneurship.

Earlier in February 2023, a national workshop for the creation of “District Employment Generation Centres” was organized at NASC Auditorium of ICAR campus in Pusa, New Delhi in which 1,352 representatives from all the states of the country participated.

SBA constituents include Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Laghu Udyog Bharti, All India Grahak Panchayat, Sahakar Bharti, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Bharatiya Janata Party, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Rashtriya Seva Bharti . Vidya Bharati, Environment Activity, Hindu Jagran Manch, Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, Deendayal Research Institute, Vivekananda Kendra, Saksham, National Educational Federation and Krida Bharati.

Other organizations include Zoho Corporation, Gayatri Parivar, Kaneri Math, D Asara, Vakrangee, IID, Jagriti Yatra, Sapio Analytics, Choil Group, CRISP India, Association of Indian Universities and Bachpan Group.

SBA’s digital platform was launched on August 21, 2022.

A two-day meeting was also held at Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi between September 30 and October 1, 2022, to discuss the implementation plan of SBA.

On the occasion of “Sahidi Diwas” (Martyrs’ Day) on March 23, 2023, SBA organized an online carnival of Youth Sankalp Diwas to promote entrepreneurship. Youth from more than 400 districts participated in it and it was addressed by Dr. Chinmay Pandya of Gayatri Parivar, badminton coach Mr. Pullela Gopichand and motivational speaker Dr. Bhupendra Singh Rathore.

With an effort to promote decentralization, entrepreneurship, cooperation and indigenization, a nationwide employment center has been set up and 448 centers are operational so far. These centers serve as a nodal point for the youth to get guidance regarding self-employment, entrepreneurship, job FPO, startup and other self-reliant-related activities. Your work serves as a bridge for youth to join the SBA mission.

Seva Bharati started 14,801 self-help centres, 1,234 tailoring centres, 3,210 self-help groups which benefited lakhs of people, 678 beauty parlor training centers and 345 computer training centres.

Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram started 3,511 Self Help Groups, 119 Sewing Centres, 14 Computer Centres, 65 Agricultural Development Centres, 10 Cluster Centers and 60 other centres, benefiting 3443 people.

Bharatiya Kisan Sangh formed 285 FPOs which benefited about 75,000 farmers.

By providing guidance regarding loan facilities and cooperative bank schemes for startups and new entrepreneurs, Sahakar Bharti benefited 2 lakh people. He networked with 1000 cooperative societies which benefited 50,000 people and contributed to the creation of new Self Help Groups which benefited 15 lakh people through interventions in one lakh Self Help Groups.

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad created 75 employment centers benefiting 5000 youth, organized 112 innovation related programs through an incubation centre, 5 startup conferences, 3 startup conclaves, 6 startup competitions, a national seminar, 20 state colleges Operated an Incubation Center in 2010, benefitting 15,000 students. ,

Vishwa Hindu Parishad has started 702 training centres, benefitting 4,710 people, and 292 specific centers related to mother-power or women entrepreneurship, benefiting 4,030 women entrepreneurs.

SBA also launched several books within the last one year including Five Pillars of India@2047, India Marching Towards Self-Reliance, Re-Becoming India Great, Success Stories of 31 Successful Entrepreneurs, Dots of India@2047, India Marching Towards Self-Reliance, Employment generation is included. Rebuilding a Great India, Igniting 37 Crore Growth Engines and a few others yet to be published.

SBA’s Youth Entrepreneurship Campaign has conducted programs in all 45 provinces, covering 511 districts, covering 400 industrial units, awarding 3938 entrepreneurs and directly reaching out to approximately one lakh youth so far. Has been created.
