A Scottish Labor candidate for the next general election has been suspended amid an investigation into “shocking” social media posts she liked and shared.
Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath candidate Wilma Brown deleted her account on X after the posts came to light.
While Ms Brown has not been accused of publishing offensive material, she has been seen supporting a number of posts including criticism of First Minister Humza Yusuf and the Scottish Government’s stance on gender recognition.
Ms Brown was suspended on Wednesday pending the outcome of the investigation.
A Labor spokesman said: “The Labor Party takes all complaints seriously.
“They will conduct a full investigation and take any appropriate action in accordance with our rules and procedures.”
