The Minister of Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sekena Itu today commented that doctors and healthcare professionals are the backbone of our country’s health system, a healthy and more flexible society shaping a society.

The minister made this comment while addressing the National Doctor’s Day celebrations at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (Skims) Sora.

Director Schemes, Dr. Mohammad Ashraf Gani; Former director Schemes, Dr. Ms. Khuru; Various departments and specialties, Schemes, doctors, medical professionals, researchers, scholars and a large number of medical students were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Sekena said that doctors and health professionals are as appreciated as we are important for building a rich and healthy society. “This day is not only about praise, it is about the deep recognition of health professionals and doctors. The doctor is not only a doctor, but also a pillar of hope for countless families. Their tireless service, often deserves our highest gratitude, deserves our highest gratitude”, he said.

The minister said that doctors play an essential role in preserving life and promoting goodness and guiding their expertise and decision through some of the most important moments of life.

He said that National Doctor’s Day in India BC Roy is observed to honor a reputed physician and politician, whose heritage medical professionals inspire generations.

The doctors told the doctors as true warriors, Minister Sekena said that they continue to serve the society with compassion, courage and integrity. He underlined the important role of medical professionals in shaping a healthy and more flexible society. He said, “Doctors often work under pressure, especially during health crises. His sacrifice is a true will for his great profession and it is our responsibility to accept and respect the contribution of our doctors.”

Recognizing and appreciating the invaluable contribution of doctors and health professionals, the minister said that Dr. Day serves as a tribute to doctors for doctors. He said, “They work tirelessly to keep people healthy and safe. The day serves as a tribute to their compassion, flexibility and important role in the healthcare ecosystem”, he said.

The minister further stated that the last few years have taught us that health care is not a privilege, it is an right and our doctors are not optional, they are necessary.

Speaking on the importance of skims in providing advanced health facilities to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Minister Sekena said that this contribution of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah is incomparable. He appreciated the skim faculty and employees for his unwavering dedication for excellence in the patient’s care, research and medical education, and repeated the need for more institutional support, infrastructure and training to empower the healthcare sector in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said, “The glory of the schemes will be restored and we are examining ways to restore the engineering wing of the institute.”

In his address, former director Schemes, Dr. Ms. Khuru spoke on the importance of the day and said that doctors insisting on the needs of National Doctor’s Day doctors who prioritize patient care at the cost of their personal health. He said that being a doctor is a blessing because it serves mankind.

Addressing the gathering, Director Schemes, Dr. M. Shraf Ghani spoke in length about the achievements of the institute and said that the day honors heroes in the white coat, who heals with knowledge, compassion, commitment and care.

In his welcome address, HOD Hospital Administration, Dr. G Yatu said that this day is a moment for the recognition and commitment of those who chose their life to serve mankind. He said that during the global epidemic, we have seen the sacrifices of medical professionals behind the masked fatigue and fatigue. He insisted that we need to redefine ourselves in the future, where carers are honored not only on the doctor’s day.

Principal Skims Medical College, Prof. Fazal Qadir; Dean Medical Faculty, Prof. GM Gulzar and former HOD Hospital Administration, Prof. GJ Qadri also spoke on the occasion.

On this occasion, the minister also distributed promotion orders among the employees of the institute.
