India will continue to maintain a firm, unrelated attitude against terrorism: Jaishankar

India and Pakistan have done an understanding of firing and stagnation of military action, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said on Saturday and said that India will continue its firm and unrelated stand against terrorism.

“India and Pakistan today have made an understanding of an understanding on firing and military action.

After the DGMOS of India and Pakistan, the minister’s comment came that both sides would stop all firing and military action.

Earlier, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri told the media that the Director General of Pakistan’s military operations approached his Indian counterpart on Saturday afternoon.

He said, “The Director General of Pakistan’s Military Operations (DGMO) called the Indian DGMO this afternoon 15:35 hours ago. They agreed that the two sides would shut down all firing and military action from the Indian standard time 1700 hours of Indian standard time.”

He said, “Today, instructions have been given on both sides to make this understanding effective. Directors of military operations will talk again in 1200 hours on 12 May.”

Pakistan Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also confirmed the ceasefire. He said in a post on X, “Pakistan and India have agreed to a ceasefire with immediate effect. Pakistan has always tried for peace and security in the region, without compromising its sovereignty and regional integrity,” he said in a post on X.

US State Secretary Marco Rubio said that the two countries had agreed to start a conversation on a broad set of issues on a neutral site.

“In the last 48 hours, VP Vance and I have engaged with senior Indian and Pakistani officials, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shehbaz Sharif, External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Army employees chief Aseem Munir, and National Security Advisors Azim Malik and Azim Malik are ready to work on a comprehensive set of issues.

Earlier in the day, Misri emphasized that the works done by Pakistan against India are “escalatery” and “stimulating” in nature and are being responded effectively. He commented in a media briefing on Saturday morning, where the evidence of Pakistan’s Escalery was provided with the neighboring country to highlight the lies lying.

India started Operation Sindoor on 7 May in response to a disgusting terrorist attack in Pahgam on 22 April. 26 people were killed in the terrorist attack. India attacked nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan captured Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan demanded the previous a series of unprotected growth using artillery guns and drones. (AI)
