Sumy, Ukraine:
Ukraine said on Friday that a Russian attack on the northeastern region of Sumy killed three people and wounded four others.
The Sumy region, which borders Russia, has been targeted during Moscow’s nearly two-year invasion but is far from hotspots further south.
“Three dead, four injured: consequences of Russian air strikes in the Sumy region,” Ukrainian Interior Minister Igor Klimenko said on Telegram.
He said the victims were in “the workshop of an agricultural company” in the village that was attacked.
Klimenko said Russia launched seven guided bombs in the Sumy region.
He did not name the village but posted a photo of rescue workers working among the rubble of what appeared to be small buildings that had been destroyed.
“Police and rescue workers are working hard to eliminate the consequences of the shelling,” Klimenko said.
Russian forces entered Sumy but were repulsed when the invasion began in 2022.
