Russian missile strikes residential building in Krivoy Rog, killing 3 people

Ukrainian officials said a Russian missile hit a residential building in the city center of Krivoy Rog on Tuesday, killing at least three people and injuring at least 38 others.

The attack on the building was one of three missiles that struck the city, said Alexander Verkul, head of the military administration in Krivorog, President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Hometown is also a frequent target of Russian attacks.

Zelensky expressed his condolences on social media and thanked rescue workers for their assistance.

“Our cities and villages suffer similar attacks every day. Ukraine loses people every day to Russia’s evil,” he wrote. “It is impossible to stop, for a day, a week, let alone a month, to support the simple defense of life, to save people from horror.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Russian officials reported damage from Ukrainian drone attacks on two Russian fuel stations, while also saying Russian forces repelled an attempted cross-border ground attack by pro-Ukrainian militias.

Two groups claiming to be composed of Russians opposed to the Kremlin said they had crossed into Russia.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that Ukrainian “terrorist groups” were trying to invade Russia from three directions, including the Belgorod and Kursk regions.

The Ukrainian military’s airstrikes on Tuesday targeted the Russian capital as well as areas bordering Ukraine and deep into Russian territory.

The governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, about 775 kilometers away from Ukraine, said a Ukrainian drone set an oil refinery on fire.

In Russia’s western Orel region, the region’s governor said a drone crashed into a refueling facility, causing a fire but causing no casualties.
