Indian cricket team wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who is known for his sharp retorts on the field, has recently been involved with Michael Vaughan and Adam Gilchrist Gilchrist’s interaction provides an example. During an episode of the Prairie Fire Club podcast co-hosted by Warne and Gilchrist, Pant was asked to ski with the former England captain and he gave a hilarious reply. “I would say (to Warne) that you focus too much on social media,” Pant said. When asked to sled Gilchrist, Pant simply replied: “He is in his own zone and you can’t disturb these guys. I have nothing to say about him.”

Pant was also asked if he had any advice on how England could beat Australia? The India star replied that batsmen need to hit the cutter more often instead of hitting it with their fists every time the ball is bowled.

“They already know what they need to do. As a batsman, I would say one simple thing, don’t bat the ball, look for the cut. That’s what I would say to the Bazballers in England. Because when you bat You have a better chance of getting caught or escaping with the ball. Australia is the best place for cuts and pulls. A fuller ball won’t bother you as much. Most of the time, it will be longer. These guys will A fuller ball hits smaller off the stumps. In England you can hit the ball in a better way.”

Meanwhile, Pant heaped praise on youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal and said that the 22-year-old is a person who only focuses on the present and does not think about the future.

Jaiswal recently beat New Zealand superstar Kane Williamson and Sri Lanka opener Pathum Nissanka to win the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for February 2024 prize.

The left-handed batsman currently leads the run-scoring list in the ICC World Test Championship and two brilliant double hundreds in back-to-back Test matches against England in February helped him progress.

Pant, while speaking on the Prairie Fire Club Podcast along with Adam Gilchrist and former England captain Michael Vaughan, said the youngsters have made an “amazing” contribution to the Indian team.

He added that if Jaiswal continues with such performances, then he will go far.

“It’s really great. All the young guys are improving. I think it’s really great because, you know, over a period of time, some new guys have joined the team. You don’t get to see them perform every time , but when they act like they keep their heads down… like not thinking too much… Jaiswal is a guy who likes to keep his head down and keep doing what he is doing. I think if he keeps doing that, then there is a lot of It’s a long way to go,” Pant said on the Prairie Fire Club podcast.
