Lucknow Super Giants are planning to bring back fast bowler Mayank Yadav in their next IPL match against Rajasthan Royals on April 27, bowling coach Morne Morkel revealed here on Monday. After a promising IPL debut with three wickets each against Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mayank was ruled out from April 7 due to “lower abdominal pain”. On the eve of their return leg clash against Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday, Morkel said Mayank had stayed back in Lucknow and is ready to return against Rajasthan Royals.

“He stayed in Lucknow to give himself an extra two-three days without travelling,” Morkel told reporters here.

“He is in Lucknow with (assistant coach) Lance Klusener and the rest, training and getting ready. So I think whatever happens from the next game onwards, we will try to get him back. “

Morkel said Mayank’s recent foray into bowling shows promising progress, with efforts now being made to achieve a consistent pace of 150 kmph.

“He is coming along very well. We are very happy with his progress. He started bowling three-four days ago, so it is a matter of time for him, of course, the expectations from him are high, (it Given) that he bowls every ball at a speed of 150 kmph.

“It’s really about getting his body and mind in a position where he can be confident, run and bowl all four overs at pace.” Defending champions Chennai Super Kings had to face defeat by eight wickets in their last match in Lucknow.

Morkel knows the IPL giants will be hoping to improve their record once they return home.

“They plan well, and they’ve got a coach and they’ve got the experience of MS (Dhoni) and all the international players.

“This is definitely a team that you need to make money from the first ball. You can’t give them that pace, because once you give them that pace, or once they have If it is, it becomes very difficult to pull the game back.

“We have to remain confident, especially after beating them by eight wickets in the last game. This is a team you can’t put on the back foot, so from a mental point of view, we have to do that in all battles, in all departments,” Morkel said. In, stand with bat, ball and fielding.
