Grand preparations for the 75th Republic Day celebrations are currently going on in the national capital. Like every year, the main focus of the festivities in Delhi on January 26 will be on the duty path where one can see several presentations and performances by the armed forces.

The Republic Day parade will start from Vijay Chowk at 10.30 am and move towards the Red Fort ground. This year the theme of the Republic Day Parade will be ‘Developed India’ and ‘India-Matrika of Democracy’. French President Emmanuel Macron will be the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations.

With him being the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations on January 26 on the duty road in Delhi, the French President will become the sixth leader of France to grace the prestigious annual festival.

All women tri-service contingents will be part of the parade

For the first time for the Republic Day Parade here, an all-women tri-service contingent from the Army, Navy and Air Force will march on the duty path, demonstrating the seamless integration of the Indian Armed Forces.

“I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to lead it. It is a proud moment for me as well as every member of the team,” 26-year-old captain Sandhya, who is leading the squad, told PTI after the practice session.

The 148-member team has been in Delhi since the beginning of December to prepare for this historic moment and before that, they practiced at their respective locations for two months.

“Our aim is to give our best at every step,” said Captain Sandhya, who participated in the Republic Day parade in 2017 as an NCC cadet from the Delhi Directorate.

French contingent to join the parade

A 95-member marching contingent and 33-member band contingent from France will participate in the 75th Republic Day Parade in New Delhi on January 26.

Rafale fighter jets and multirole tanker transport aircraft of the French Air Force will participate in the Republic Day parade, where French President Emmanuel Macron is the chief guest this year.

Officials said six Indians will also be part of the French military contingent that will march on the royal duty path along with Indian contingents in the 75th Republic Day parade on Friday.

Captain Loic Alexandre, an officer of the French Foreign Legion, has expressed his honor and pride to be in India for the Republic Day celebrations.

A glimpse of Namo Bharat train will be seen in the tableau of UP

National Capital Region Transport Corporation’s Namo Bharat train replica is all set to be displayed in the tableau of Uttar Pradesh this Republic Day.

Officials said the tableau will showcase the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) train originating from Sahibabad station and is expected to be the center of attraction in the parade.

“NaMo Bharat Train is going to be the center of attraction in the Republic Day celebrations this year. Its glimpse will be seen in the tableau of Uttar Pradesh. It will showcase RRTS trains running from Sahibabad station,” NCRTC said in a statement. He said, “It will be a very captivating moment when Indians from different corners of the world will experience the transport revolution brought by NCRTC through this tableau.”

This year’s parade will showcase the use of AI

The tableau of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology participating in this year’s Republic Day Parade will showcase the involvement and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in various sectors and industries.

ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 will shine in the Republic Day parade

Eight women scientists of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), who were part of India’s biggest space dream of landing on the moon, will march on the duty path as part of the 75th Republic Day parade to be held on Friday.

All women contingents from various ISRO centers in Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Thiruvananthapuram and Sriharikota will lead the special tableau to be displayed by ISRO.

The space agency will capture the historic moment when its spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed on the Moon on August 23 last year. This milestone made India the first and only country in the world to land near the unexplored south pole of the Moon.
