Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders clash in IPL 2024, pitting two teams with a shared history against each other. In the first match of IPL, the two teams faced each other and KKR won. Since then, they have come face to face many times. Now, ahead of the match, the official broadcaster of IPL has shared an old video of Gambhir in which he made some interesting observations about RCB.
“The one team I want to beat every time, even in my dreams, is RCB. Probably the second highest profile team, a gorgeous team with a boss and a team – Chris Gayle, V Rat Kohli, AB de Villiers. Honestly didn’t win it all, still think they won it all. That kind of attitude. I can’t accept it. Maybe KKR’s three best ever wins were against RCB,” Gautam Gambhir said in the video.
“The one thing I want in my cricket career is to go out there and beat RCB.”

Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Andre Russell has praised Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and said they have “great match-winners” in their squad.
The Kolkata-based team will take on RCB at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
Russell said in the pre-match press conference that KKR will not take RCB for granted as they can take away any game. The Caribbean all-rounder added that the Bengaluru-based outfit has a good bowling unit.
“My mentality was very clear, especially after winning and getting some runs. [But] I don’t take anything for granted. RCB are a fantastic team and they have some great match-winning players who can take the game away from us. They also have a good bowling unit. So I hope if I’m faced with five, six, seven, eight balls in the backfield, I can make the most of it. But I hope the other batsmen can come to the party tomorrow and at least get some time in the middle,” Russell was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
RCB batting coach Neil McKenzie talks about the pitch at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
“I thought the course had a little bit of up and down movement the other day, but that’s definitely not the norm. So I think it should be a good course [tomorrow] There’s a certain rhythm to it and that probably suits our team,” McKenzie said.
