Ravindra Jadeja shamelessly comments on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma joining elite list Cricket News

Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja delivered a match-winning performance against Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The all-rounder picked up three important wickets for the Super Kings, earning them their third win of the season. But apart from the ball, Jadeja also worked wonders on the field and joined the elite team of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma among the players who have taken more than 100 catches in the history of IPL List. Apart from Jadeja, only four players in the history of the game have been able to reach this milestone.

In the special club, Jadeja is behind only Virat Kohli (110), Suresh Raina (109), Kieron Pollard (103) and Rohit Sharma (100) et al. Shikhar Dhawan (98) is one of the other players who is about to enter the elite list. Jadeja had a cheeky remark when he was reminded of the record-breaking performance in the middle of the match against KKR.

“I don’t count my catches,” Jadeja cheekily said when informed of the milestone moment.

The entire first innings was Jadeja’s show as he pushed KKR’s back to the wall with his stunning spells and his brilliant performance on the field on Monday.

Jadeja picked up two catches and took three wickets, which played a key role in restricting KKR to a sub-par score of 137/9.

With these two catches, Jadeja became the fourth player to complete 100 catches as a fielder. On the first ball of KKR’s innings, Jadeja took a quick catch and dismissed Philip Salt for a golden duck.

In the 20th over, after KKR captain Shreyas Iyer missed a shot, Jadeja took an easy catch deep at mid-wicket.

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s hard-hitting batsman Virat Kohli tops the list with an astonishing 110 catches in 242 games.

Former Chennai Super Kings star Suresh Raina ranks second with 109 catches in 205 games. Former MI star all-rounder Kieron Pollard ranks third with 103 catches in 189 games.

Last week, Rohit became the fourth player to complete 100 catches in the IPL during MI’s win over Delhi Capitals. The veteran opener completed the catch off Jhye Richardson, taking his 100th catch in his 247th match in the IPL.

Jadeja spearheaded the bowling attack against KKR, setting the stage for a comprehensive seven-wicket haul for the hosts.

Jadeja took three wickets for just 18 runs in his four-wicket over, which played a key role in restricting KKR to 137/9.

Chasing 138 runs, CSK had little trouble winning comprehensively by 7 wickets on the back of a brilliant batting performance from captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (67*).
