Virat Kohli bats during the IPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday Hardik Pandya was unhappy when the crowd at the Stadium booed him. The pre-match decision to appoint Hardik as captain of Mumbai Indians in place of Rohit Sharma did not go down well with the fans, with a section of the crowd having previously booed Hardik after three consecutive defeats. Kohli, however, was unimpressed with the crowd’s reaction and signaled to stop the negative reaction and urged them to cheer for the MI captain. The move quickly went viral, with users praising his intervention. (IPL Points Table)
Kohli disapproved of the Wankhede crowd’s booing of Hardik. Instead, he encouraged them to cheer for Hardik. Surprisingly, not even his own teammates came out to support him.

Hardik was booed for the first time when he came on in the RCB innings, but the crowd’s reaction was minimal when he came out to bat after Rohit’s dismissal. While every shot of Rohit was cheered by the crowd, Hardik struggled to get appreciation from the crowd.

Kohli reacted quickly to stop the boos from the crowd and in a video that went viral on social media, he also reminded the crowd that Hardik is an Indian cricket team player.
The result happened almost instantly as a section of the crowd started chanting “Hardik, Hardik” and the MI captain responded to the cheers with a first-ball six off Will Jacks.
Mumbai Indians comprehensively defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore thanks to superb batting performances from Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan and five wickets from Jasprit Bumrah Team.
