Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut today took a dig at MNS chief and Uddhav Thackeray’s cousin Raj Thackeray, saying being a Suspicions arose in people’s minds when an organization formed to safeguard the pride of Maharashtra supported its “enemies”.

Sanjay Raut’s remarks came a day after Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray announced unconditional support for the state’s coalition led by the BJP, Shiv ·The ruling “Mahayuti” alliance formed by the Sena and the National Congress Party and supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking to reporters in Mumbai on Wednesday, Sanjay Raut said his party was fighting for the pride of Maharashtra.

“Corporates are being driven out of Maharashtra and there are attempts to undermine and weaken Mumbai. In this situation, if a party formed for the pride of Maharashtra supports the enemies, then doubts will arise in people’s minds. He (Raj Thackeray) answers the questions,” Mr Raut claimed.

Addressing the annual gathering of Gudi Padwa, Maharashtra’s traditional new year symbolizing new beginnings and auspiciousness, in Mumbai on Tuesday, Raj Thackeray said he hoped Modi The prime minister focused on the issues of young people and insisted that the state should get a greater share of central revenue, taking into account the taxes it paid.

Uddhav Thackeray parted ways with his long-time ally the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2019 over sharing the chief ministerial post and formed the government in alliance with the Congress and the NCP (then undivided).

The Shiv Sena suffered a split in June 2022 when a majority of the MLAs, led by current chief minister Eknath Shinde, rebelled against Uddhav Thackeray’s leadership. Uddhav Thackeray resigned as chief minister after the rebellion.
