A royal commentator has taken a dig at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s latest appointment ahead of the Duke’s highly anticipated visit to Britain, claiming they will be “eaten alive.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly appointed Charlie Gipson and Kyle Boulia as communications officers.
Gipson will be based in the UK and take up the role of Communications Director, acting as the main point of contact for the UK press.
Speaking to Ben Leo on GB News, royal reporter Charlotte Griffiths criticized the pair for their “unwise” move, saying: “Why have they appointed this person who has no experience of tabloid media?
“He’ll be eaten by the wolves. I think it’s a surprising appointment and not in a good way.”
She said: “Don’t forget they’ve lost 17 people in six years. It’s a huge turnover of staff. I don’t want to get down the wrong path with Charlie Gipson.”
She added, “A friend of mine who knows him said, look, I don’t think he’ll last five minutes.”
Charlie Gipson will reportedly handle media queries for Meghan and Harry in the UK.
Meghan and Harry reportedly took this decision to enhance their reputation in the UK. The Duke is due to visit Britain to attend an event in May.
