Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here on Friday. He was also committed to the national cause and laid the foundation for multiple development projects worth over Rs 9,770 crore related to urban transport, health, railways and tourism sectors.

AIIMS-Rewari will be constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 1,650 crore and will be developed on 203 acres of land in Majra Bhalkhi village.

AIIMS-Rewari will have a 720-bed hospital complex, a 100-seat medical college, a 60-seat nursing college, a 30-bed AYUSH building, accommodation for faculty, undergraduate students and graduate dormitories, night shelters and hotels, etc.

AIIMS-Rewari, established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), will provide comprehensive, quality and holistic tertiary healthcare services to the people of Haryana.

Apart from AIIMS-Rewari, Modi also laid the foundation stone of the Gurgaon Metro Rail Project, which was developed at a cost of approximately Rs 5,450 crore. The 28.5-km-long project will connect Millennium City Center to Udyog Vihar Phase 5 and be integrated into the existing metro network of Gurugram Rapid Metro at Mursali Avenue station near Cyber City.

The project is an important step towards realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of providing a world-class environmentally friendly mass rapid urban transport system to citizens.

Modi also inaugurated the newly built Anubhav Kendra Jyotisar at Kurukshetra. This experiential museum was built at a cost of approximately Rs 240 crore. The museum covers more than 17 acres and has more than 100,000 square feet of indoor space. It will vividly bring to life the epic narratives of the Mahabharata and the teachings of the Gita.

The museum also utilizes cutting-edge technologies such as augmented reality (AR), 3D laser and projection mapping to enrich the visitor experience. Kurukshetra Jyotisar is the holy place where Lord Krishna imparted the eternal wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna.
