Police have released new details after a headless human torso was found wrapped in plastic at a nature reserve in Salford.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed on Saturday that the torso was that of a man aged over 40.

Police have been conducting a murder investigation after the body was found in the Kesar wetland on Thursday.

It is understood a search is underway for other body parts, but police said on Saturday they had not found anything further.

GMP added that further investigations, including DNA testing, are ongoing to try to identify the man.
