Poco F6 is expected to use Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, Sony cameras and more

Poco’s global executive David Liu recently teased the arrival of a new Poco F series phone, but did not confirm the exact name. It is believed to be Poco F6. The Xiaomi sub-brand is yet to announce a launch date for the new F-series devices, but ahead of that, its specifications have surfaced online. It is expected to run on the newly announced Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC. It is said to feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 sensor. It is speculated that the Poco F6 will debut as a rebranded version of the unreleased Redmi Note 13 Turbo.

Android Headlines, citing HyperOS source code, claim Poco F6 will run on Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC. The Poco phone, codenamed “peridot”, will be the second phone in the world to be powered by the latest Qualcomm chipset. Earlier this month, Xiaomi launched the Civi 4 Pro, its first phone powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset.

Additionally, the report states that the Poco F6 will feature a Sony IMX882 50-megapixel primary camera. The upcoming Realme 12 Pro 5G and iQoo Z9 5G use the same sensor. The camera setup will reportedly include an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 ultra-wide-angle sensor. The internal model number is said to be “N16T”.

Poco is reportedly using display panels from TCL and Tianma on the Poco F6. However, there is no word on the display specifications yet.

Poco F6 has been rumored for a while now. Poco Global executive David Liu (@DavidBlueLS) recently seemed to confirm the existence of the device. It is expected to go official between April and May along with the Poco F6 Pro. It was earlier rumored to be a rebranded version of the unreleased Redmi Note 13 Turbo.

The Poco F6 is believed to be an upgrade over last year’s Poco F5 5G, which was launched in May last year for Rs. The 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant is priced at $29,999.
