In his meeting with Bill Gates, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared how India is pioneering the adoption of new technologies, especially artificial intelligence. In a candid conversation at the Prime Minister’s residence, Bill Gates praised Indians for embracing technology to improve their lifestyles.

In a video shared by a news organization YearPrime Minister Modi said, “During the G20 Summit in Indonesia, representatives from across the world expressed curiosity about the digital revolution in the country. I explained to them that we have democratized technology to prevent monopoly. It is the people For the people…”

Bill Gates said: “Here, it’s like digital government. India is not only adapting to technology, but is actually leading the way…”

Former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday discussed various topics including the development of artificial intelligence in India, adoption of new technologies, women-led development, risks of artificial intelligence and other topics.

As concerns over deepfakes grow, Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the need to properly train AI systems and add watermarks to AI-generated content.

“Our priority is to improve the quality of life and not just focus on services,” the Prime Minister said. Finally, the meeting also highlighted the need for digital public infrastructure in rural areas to avoid the digital divide in the country.
