Royal Challengers Bangalore wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Kartik took a hilarious dig at former England captain Nasser Hussain while jokingly stating that he was the only one who wished Kartik would quit the Indian team during last year’s World Cup people. The veteran batsman is soaring in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He scored an unbeaten 28 runs in just 10 balls against Punjab Kings, a match that combined 3 4s and 2 6s to score a whopping 280 runs with a strike rate of 280 runs. A whopping 280 points. Led RCB to victory.
Hussain praised Karthik’s excellent batting skills and even hinted that he will be part of India’s 15-man squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
After Hussain finished speaking, Karthik started his hilarious rant which even made the former England captain laugh.
“Nas, I don’t believe a word you say. Nas doesn’t like me as a person, as a player, as a goalie, let alone any part of me. This is the first time he’s said oh , you crushed it… But if you ask him if he puts India first now and then ask six wicketkeepers, I would be the eighth in the list,” Karthik said in an interview Hussain of Sky Sports said in an interview.

“The only person who wanted me out of the team so strongly at last year’s World Cup… you gave me an interview and you stabbed me in the back. Where are the Rishabh pants in our headlines. Don’t Try to play nice and coy with me. Ten games later, he’ll probably call me and say I just thought you played well and now you’re looking good. Seriously, that’s what it means to me personally A good start,” he added.
While Karthik scored high with his effortless batting, RCB on the other hand struggled to get a series of results in their favour.
RCB currently have just one win in five games and a negative net run rate of 0.843, ranking ninth.
RCB will take on Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.
