Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) gave another push to their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoff qualification scenario with a dominant win over Gujarat Titans (GT) on Saturday. Notching their third consecutive win of the campaign, Far du Plessis and Co. moved up to 7th on the points table with 4 wins from 11 matches. RCB were almost out of the playoff race about 3 matches ago, but since then they have won all their games and some other results have also gone in their favor to jump back into the fight for a top 4 spot. There are still three matches left in the league campaign, so the chances of Virat Kohli’s team progressing are slim.

How RCB can qualify for IPL 2024 playoffs:

Condition 1:RCB will have to win all their remaining three matches of the league stage at any cost. With three wins in the remaining three matches, Bengaluru’s team will have a total of 7 wins and 14 points. Currently RCB’s net run rate is -0.049 which will turn positive by the time the league stage ends.

Condition 2:If RCB gets the remaining three wins, they will also hope that either Sunrisers Hyderabad or Lucknow Super Giants do not get more than one win in their remaining league campaign. Both teams currently have 12 points from 10 matches.

Condition 3: that’s not enough. RCB will also be hoping that Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals, both currently on 10 points, don’t get more than two wins.

Condition 4:Punjab Kings, who are in the race for a top-four finish, are on eight points from 10 matches. They also must not win all their remaining 4 games.

Even a single defeat in the remaining three matches would be enough to derail RCB’s campaign. While it is mandatory for them to win the remaining matches, Royal Challengers will also benefit if they win those games by huge margins, which will increase their NRR.
