Bengaluru:
Customs officials at the Kempegowda International Airport on Monday said a passenger was arrested for allegedly attempting to smuggle a yellow anaconda by hiding it in his check-in baggage.
Posting on social media platform
“The traveler has been arrested and investigation is underway. Wildlife trafficking will not be tolerated,” it said.
According to Indian laws it is illegal to trade in wildlife, and the Customs Act of 1962 contains several sections to deal with wildlife trafficking.
