Mahoba:

Four workers were killed and one injured on Tuesday when part of a quarry here fell on them, police said.

District Magistrate Mridul Chaudhary said the workers were trapped under the rubble.

“We have asked the contractor and there were no explosions during the mining process,” he said.

Another Satyam superintendent of police identified the victims as Prem Chandra Khushwaha (19), Ramphool (32), Rammilan Khushwaha (35) and Kuldeep Raikwar (20).

The SP added that the injured worker was undergoing treatment at the hospital.

“Precautionary measures should be taken while working in mines…Action will be taken against the culprits,” divisional commissioner Bal Krishna Tripathi said.
