'Our party will win all seats in Kashmir and Indian bloc will grow': Farooq Abdullah

The National Conference chief said both his party and the People’s Democratic Party were part of the Indian alliance.

Jammu:

After Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti expressed dissatisfaction with the National Conference’s decision to contest from all three Lok Sabha constituencies in Kashmir, National Committee Chairman Farooq Abdullah on Saturday said both parties were in the Indian alliance part. He claimed that his party would win all three seats in Kashmir for the alliance.

Mehbooba Mufti on Friday said the National Council’s decision was “disappointing” and “a setback to the hopes of the people of J&K”. She also accused the NC of reducing the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) to a “joke”.

“I don’t know what she (Mufti) said… The National Conference was self-reliant and won three seats (in the 2019 general elections). We are part of the alliance and she is part of the alliance. If the National Conference The conference has won (these seats) again and they will win it for the Indian Union, so what is the question,” Mr Abdullah told reporters here.

The NC leader said he was sure that the Indian Union will always grow as the “future of India and democracy” requires it. “Everyone wants a secular India where all of us can live in peace, harmony and progress,” he said.

“India is for everyone. India is not Pakistan. The framework of the Indian Constitution is that we are all one. What does it matter what religion you follow, what language you speak and your culture? This is a united India,” he said.

When asked about Mehbooba Mufti’s remarks on the PAGD, he said that the assembly elections are coming soon, “We will see what we do. I am sure they (BJP-led government) will try to hold the assembly elections through the assembly elections. “

The National Council has announced that the party will contest three seats in the Kashmir Valley and asked the Congress to contest two seats in the Jammu region. The party also said that NC and Congress will select unanimous candidates for the Ladakh seat.

Jammu and Kashmir has five Lok Sabha seats while Ladakh has one. In the last elections, the NC won three seats in Kashmir, while the BJP won two seats in Jammu and the only seat in Ladakh.

Speaking at the PAGD, Ms Mufti said on Friday it was “difficult to see unity break down”.

“I’m sad that everything we’ve cultivated for five years has been shattered,” she said. The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister said the People’s Democratic Party can allow the NC to contest all three seats in the valley if the NC leadership takes up the issue with her.

However, she said the People’s Democratic Party remained part of the India Bloc and the party would discuss its future strategy with the Congress.

Asked about the formation of Pakistan’s new government and its likely approach towards India, Abdullah said on Saturday that Islamabad must decide whether it wants peaceful relations with India.

“What Pakistan does is their problem. It’s their country and they should decide if they want to live in peace with our country or not.

“Maharaja Hari Singh incorporated Kashmir into India and this accession will last forever even today,” he said. He added, “We are part of India and there is no problem for us. They should decide their What to do.” I want to do it. “

When asked about Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s remarks comparing Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Adolf Hitler, he said, “I don’t know what he said and where Under what conditions?”

“He (Modi) is not the Prime Minister of the BJP. Only 37% of the people voted for him, but once he becomes the Prime Minister, he represents every Indian. When he goes abroad, he also represents 1.4 billion people. “

“He represents Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Christians and all other religions, as well as those who have no religion,” he said.
