The Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army on Thursday conducted a training exercise at an ultra-high altitude area of 17,000 feet in Sikkim, which included firing of anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM), defense experts in Guwahati revealed in a press release.
All Eastern Command mechanized units and infantry missile units participated in the training.
The exercise included comprehensive continuity training and live firing from different platforms against moving and static targets depicting battlefield conditions, the release said.
The anti-tank guided missile detachment demonstrated the ability to neutralize armored threats with unparalleled lethality, ensuring the success of missions in dangerous mountainous terrain, the report added.
The press release further stated that the performance of the ATGM system in high-altitude environments once again confirmed the goals of the “Ek Missile Ek Tank” and demonstrated the accuracy and effectiveness of the ATGM system in ultra-high-altitude terrain.
