Oppo F25 Pro 5G with 64-megapixel camera to launch in India this month

Oppo has announced the Oppo F25 Pro 5G as its next F-series phone in the country. It has been confirmed to launch in India later this month. Along with the launch date, the company also revealed its design and some key specifications. Based on the information and appearance, the phone appears to be the rebranded Oppo Reno 11F 5G, which was recently launched in Indonesia. So far, the Oppo F25 Pro 5G has only been revealed in one color option, but there may be more to come.

According to the press release, the Oppo F23 5G successor will be placed in the sub-R. The price segment is $25,000 and is confirmed to launch in India on February 29 in Lava Red color option. Oppo F25 Pro 5G features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is protected by Panda Glass. The company said in a press release that it has a screen-to-body ratio of 93.4% and a thickness of 7.54mm. For the optics, it comes with a triple rear camera unit housed in two vertically aligned circular modules. The setup includes a 64-megapixel primary shooter, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a 112-degree field of view, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. It has a centrally located punch-hole cutout on the front that houses a 32-megapixel lens for selfies and video calls.

Additionally, the Chinese smartphone brand claims that the camera will come with multiple artificial intelligence (AI) features. One of them is AI Smart Image Cutout, which allows users to click on a photo and extract the subject (or subjects) into a transparent PNG for sharing with other apps. This feature is similar to what has been available on iPhone since iOS 16. Apart from this, the smartphone also utilizes artificial intelligence in beauty filters and portrait mode for more aesthetically pleasing results.

While no other specs were mentioned, we do know more about the Oppo Reno 11F 5G, which is believed to be the global variant of the F25 Pro. According to reports, it may be equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset, paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB inbuilt storage. The leak also suggests that the phone will have a 5,000mAh battery and support 67W wired fast charging.
