First tested in March, YouTube is now making ‘Jump Ahead’ more accessible to Premium subscribers through the youtube.com/new platform. Once activated, users can simply double-tap to proceed and see a pill-shaped button in the lower-right corner. By leveraging AI and data on audience behavior, YouTube identifies the most appropriate point of departure, ensuring users can quickly navigate to the content they find most engaging. Upon tapping the button, users are greeted with an overlay indicating that they are ‘jumping to a normally skipped section’, which is a feature exclusive to YouTube Premium members.

It was initially introduced as a small-scale experiment, but the feature has now gained wider visibility on the youtube.com/new experiment page. However, it is currently limited to the mobile client and is accessible through Settings > Try experimental new features. Additionally, it’s worth noting that this feature is only for the YouTube Android app and is only available for English videos in the US.

Although this feature doesn’t apply to every video, it seems to prioritize videos with a large number of views. Additionally, access to this experimental feature requires a YouTube Premium subscription.
