The Nothing Phone 2 was launched in July 2023 and runs Android 13-based Nothing OS 2.0 out of the box. The phone has been updated to Android 14 and is now receiving the new NothingOS 2.5.5 update. This update introduces ChatGPT integration as well as bug fixes and other improvements. Meanwhile, Nothing launched the brand’s latest headphones, Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear A, on April 18. These headphones also integrate ChatGPT, which can be accessed via the pinch-to-speak action.

in the community postalNothing has announced that with the NothingOS 2.5.5 update, Nothing Phone 2 users can take advantage of ChatGPT integration. Users need to have the latest ChatGPT version from the Play Store installed on their phones for it to work properly. The integration adds a new gesture option in the Nothing X app for initiating voice conversations with ChatGPT for Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear A. This feature is expected to appear in other Nothing audio products soon.

The NothingOS 2.5.5 update also adds a new ChatGPT widget to help launch ChatGPT in different modes from the Phone 2 home screen. A new button will appear in the screenshot and clipboard popup of this update, allowing users to paste content directly into a new conversation in ChatGPT.

The Nothing Phone 2 also gets camera improvements with the NothingOS 2.5.5 update. Phone cameras now support Ultra XDR, a mode that can be activated through the camera settings on the phone. There are also XDR switches for Photo and Portrait modes in the Camera app.

The latest update also adds a RAM booster feature, which can be accessed via Settings > System > RAM Booster. With the NothingOS 2.5.5 update, the quick settings feature on the Phone 2 gets a ring mode option, allowing users to quickly choose between different sound settings. Users also get new logger and battery widgets and a glyph UI debug mode in the developer options, which means app developers have more control over the glyph UI.

The NothingOS 2.5.5 update for Phone 2 also improves system stability, NFC functionality, and Wi-Fi connection stability. It also claims to fix certain bugs and flickering issues related to Quick Settings app launch.
