Apple released its latest iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and even tvOS updates for eligible devices this week. The new update gives you many new features that many people have been waiting for for weeks.

But the important part of these updates is a security improvement that Apple has talked about in recent months. You already know about the Stolen Device Protection feature that rolled out with the iOS 17.3 update, but there’s a major security fix bundled with the WebKit-related version.

These vulnerabilities can be so powerful that attackers can bypass the security of your Apple devices and gain access to confidential data without raising any alarm. Apple has acknowledged the concerns surrounding this issue and even stated that the issue has already been exploited, which is a definite concern for millions of Apple users.

So, if you have avoided installing the latest iOS/iPadOS/watchOS/macOS or even tvOS updates till now, we suggest you get it immediately and secure your device from the problem. You can update the OS of these devices by going to Settings – Software update & install after confirming your identity with the device PIN.

Earlier this month, a major GPU-related issue came to light. Basically, the problem is associated with the GPU running on models prior to the iPhone 15 series and Mac M3 models.

Sadly, if you’re using last year’s M2-powered Mac, the security flaw is a definite risk and Apple will need to quickly figure out a way to fix the problem for these devices.

The problem with this flaw is that if an attacker is able to overcome the flaw and access the device then all the data processed by the chip can be seen.

The other big talking point is that Apple is not the only company that needs to be concerned about this flaw as GPUs made by Qualcomm, AMD, and more vendors are also affected by this issue. The researchers who discovered this issue are calling it LeftoverLocals because the flaw allows the hacker to read data that was left over from a previous read.
