Seoul:
North Korea said on Wednesday it had successfully test-fired a new medium- and long-range solid-fuel hypersonic missile, North Korean newspaper Rodong Sinmun said.
North Korea launched what appeared to be a medium-range ballistic missile into the sea on Tuesday, possibly testing a new rocket that uses solid fuel, a move that drew immediate condemnation from South Korea, Japan and the United States.
“Rodong Sinmun” stated that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un inspected the launch and praised it as a strategic weapon that demonstrated the “absolute advantage” of North Korea’s defense technology.
According to Rodong Sinmun, Kim Jong-un said North Korea has “completely converted all tactical, operational and strategic-level missiles of different ranges into solid fuel, with warhead control capabilities, and with nuclearization capabilities.”
