No one will lose citizenship, says Rajnath Singh on CAA law

Rajnath Singh accused the opposition Congress and DMK of “creating confusion” on the issue.

Namakkal (Tamil Nadu):

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday claimed that with the implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, no Indian, irrespective of his faith, will lose his citizenship.

He accused the opposition Congress and DMK of “creating confusion” on the issue.

Rajnath made the remarks after holding a roadshow here to support the party’s Namakkal candidate KP Ramalingam in the April 19 Lok Sabha elections.

He said that the BJP has always fulfilled its promises and the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, abrogation of Article 370 and CAA are such guarantees.

“We promised to bring in the Citizenship Bill and we did that. I want to make it clear that the citizenship of any citizen of India – whether Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Zoroastrian or Jew – will disappear,” he explain.

“DMK and Congress are creating chaos in this matter,” he claimed.

Regarding the abolition of triple talaq, he said the “mothers and sisters” of any faith are “our mothers and sisters”. “Any atrocities against mothers and sisters of any religion, we stand with them and we prove this by ending triple talaq,” he said.
