Sidhu feels that Rohit Sharma would not have been replaced by Hardik Pandya as Mumbai Indians captain had the BCCI appointed him as captain for last year’s T20 World Cup.
In February this year, BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced Rohit as captain of India’s yet-to-be-named T20 World Cup squad at an event in Ahmedabad, two months after he was replaced as MI captain by Pandya .
“If BCCI appoints Rohit as captain for the T20 World Cup in October, the team will not choose Hardik as captain. It is a matter of respect from the team. So, the real issue here is timing,” Sidhu said in ‘Star Sports News room”.
The wounds have healed, but the emotional scars of the ordeal will remain. The fifth chemo session was in progress… The search for a good vein was in vain for some time, then Dr. Rupinder’s expertise came in handy… She refused to move her arm, so she was spoon fed…

Pandya has been facing hostility from fans in the ongoing IPL and has been booed in all three games so far, including the one at MI’s home venue Wankhede, which he lost.
Sidhu said the fans’ reaction was understandable as Rohit is a much-loved cricketer.
“Nobody can digest the fact that India’s hero, India’s captain, is not the captain of our team. ‘What has he done wrong?'” That’s what fans of the team are thinking. But what must he do? “There’s nothing like success. If he wins these two games, there won’t be any noise,” he pointed out.
Talking about other teams in the IPL, Sidhu feels Royal Challengers Bangalore have become predictable, especially in terms of spin bowling.
“The most important thing about a team winning is that they don’t just rely on one person to win. We do talk about Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis, but you have to pick the right saddle.
“The chain is only as strong as its weakest link and their weakness is in the spin department. Their spinners are not there so they have to supplement that area. For example, RCB has (Wanindu) Hasaranga who is very good even in Before him, there was Yuzvendra Chahal,” he commented.
“But they let them go and that created a gap in their bowling line-up. RCB couldn’t fill that gap and that made them predictable. Now look at (MS) Dhoni – when he arrived, there was no one Know his plans,” he said.
