Navi Mumbai woman injured in acid attack; husband booked

Navi Mumbai police have registered a case against a man for allegedly throwing acid on his wife after an argument, an official said on Sunday.

The police on Saturday registered a case under Section 326(a) (causing grievous hurt by use of acid) of the Indian Penal Code, the official said.

He said the accused Ramzan Siddiqu Gazi allegedly threatened his wife Amina Khatun after a heated argument at their house in Panvel on January 20. 28 years old) acid attack.

He said the victim suffered injuries on his face and was undergoing treatment at his hometown in West Bengal.

She lodged a complaint with Banyapukur police in West Bengal and the case was handed over to Panvel Taluka police, the official said, adding that no arrests have been made in the case so far.
