Mumbai police arrest two gunmen who opened fire at Salman Khan's residence

Two men on a bike fired multiple rounds at Salman Khan’s Bandra residence in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Mumbai:

The Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested two accused in connection with the shooting incident outside actor Salman Khan’s Bandra West residence.

Mumbai Police confirmed that the two accused were arrested late Monday night in Bhuj, Gujarat.

“The two accused, who fled Mumbai after the shooting incident, have been arrested in Bhuj, Gujarat,” officials said.

They added that they will be taken to Mumbai for further investigation.

The shooting occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning when two unidentified men opened fire outside the Galaxy Apartments where the actor lived before fleeing the scene.

The incident prompted law enforcement agencies to take swift action.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect arrived at the scene on a motorcycle with a helmet on his face, indicating that this was a “well-planned attack.”

They fired a total of four rounds during the incident, leaving one unexploded bullet at the scene.

Earlier, the Mumbai crime branch summoned two persons for questioning in connection with the recent dismissals.

After the incident, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had a phone call with Salman regarding the incident. Mr. Shinde also held discussions with the Mumbai Police Commissioner and suggested tightening security for actors.

Salman Khan’s security level has been raised to Y from November 2022 due to threats from gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar -Plus. Mr Khan was also authorized to carry a personal firearm and a new armored vehicle was purchased for increased protection.
