Dhoni arrived in Chennai on Tuesday ahead of the upcoming IPL season. Speculations are rife that this season will be Dhoni’s last as a player.
Dhoni struggled with a knee injury last season but led CSK to a record-equalling fifth IPL title.
The 42-year-old had to undergo knee surgery in Mumbai after the Ahmedabad final.
Despite doubts over his availability next season, Dhoni is ready to lead CSK once again. This will be his 14th season as team captain.
Last week, MS Dhoni posted an interesting update on his Facebook account. “Can’t wait for the new season and new ‘characters’. Stay tuned!” he wrote. The post sparked speculations over whether MS Dhoni will be offered the coaching reins.
He later clarified the meaning of his post. “New season, dual roles!” he wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday. This article is actually a promotion for IPL.
