India’s Test series against England earlier this year will be remembered by fans for many years to come. India won the five-match Test series against the Three Lions with a score of 4–1. Apart from the emphatic wins, the series was also memorable for India captain Rohit Sharma’s witty comments, which entertained the fans during the matches. During a match, Rohit was seen giving instructions to his fielders and was heard on the stump-mic saying, “Whoever walks into the garden…”

This comment of Rohit went viral and surprised everyone. Recently, Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin, who was also a part of the Test series against England, spoke openly on Rohit’s viral statement.

“Rohit says don’t roam in the garden. He speaks right. These people are really people who roam in the garden. (Rohit said don’t roam in the garden, he is right. These people really walk as if He (be) roaming in a garden),” Ashwin said during RR’s promotional event.

“Whenever you shine a ball, the shiny side has to be kept dry. So, now, the ball is given to Yashasvi. He will spit on the ball and pass it to him. Then he will pass the ball to Shubman Gill. The boy is playing with the ball and passing it. If you sweat then how will you swing? This is how he reacts.

For a man with a very keen sense of humour, Ashwin had a funny take on the size of boundaries this season.

“The grounds in Jaipur, the range is very big. When I saw him, Dhruv Jurel said: “Bhaiya it is very big” and I told him, “Dhruv, at least let it be somewhere”. Seeing him, I Felt at this stage in my career, I would need a bicycle to reach the (Sawai Man Singh) limit.

“Then in the next stadium, I felt I could walk and in the next stadium I could run and then in one I felt if I spit out my chewing gum, it would cross the boundary for a six,” Ashwin said. “

RR will now take on Delhi Capitals in their next IPL 2024 match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday.
