Seven out of 10 CEOs globally are planning to invest in generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) this year, a new report said on Tuesday. According to global software-as-a-service (SaaS) company Netcore Cloud, GenAI is emerging as a top investment priority, with CEOs expecting a solid payoff within the upcoming three to five years.

The report also suggests that consumer preferences are strongly tilted toward short-form video content and convenient and quick transactions.

With 90 percent of consumers reporting they are convinced by video in their product decisions, industry leaders are embracing influencer marketing, leveraging short videos to shine the spotlight on their product lines.

Nearly 89 percent of consumers revealed that watching videos tip the scales when deciding on a product or service. Additionally, the report states that users actively search for brands and products on Instagram, making it the platform’s second most engaging activity, attracting 62.2 percent of its users.

Similarly, on TikTok, 65 percent of users trust online reviews and manufacturer recommendations for informed online purchasing decisions. “As we move into a future dominated by AI and automation, understanding these trends is critical for any marketer who wants to make a substantial impact,” said Mahesh Narayanan, chief marketing development officer, Netcore Cloud.

Furthermore, the report mentions that as user preferences for different channels are gaining importance, companies adopting strong omnichannel engagement are set to earn annual revenue growth of up to 9.5 percent.
