Five-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings on Sunday announced that star fast bowler Mathiesha Pathirana will return to Sri Lanka to recover from a hamstring injury. Pathirana has not been in action since playing against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 28. Pathirana has been very impressive for the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side and his absence is a big blow for the team which is looking to seal a place in the IPL 2024 playoffs. “Mathisha Pathirana is suffering from a hamstring injury and will return to Sri Lanka for further recovery.
