A war of words has erupted between the BJP and the Congress ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, with BJP leader Nalin Kohli on Monday criticizing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his recent questioning of electronic voting machines ( EVM) completeness of speech.

Kohli condemned Rahul Gandhi’s remarks and called such accusations an insult to the Indian electorate.

Targeting Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, BJP MP Nalin Kohli said, “By raising such allegations, the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi have to some extent insulted the Indian electorate. . Indian voters decide the fate of India. They are the ones who blessed Prime Minister Modi in 2014 and 2019 and apparently seem to want to bless him for a third term as Narendra Modi considers the entire country his Family. The Prime Minister has an agenda and that is to make India a developed country by 2047,” Kohli said.

He further said: “They (Congress) cannot digest the fact that the polls did not go as they expected, so they keep insulting the voters by opposing EVMs.”

Rahul Gandhi, in comments in Maharashtra on Sunday, expressed concerns over the functioning of the EVM and used the Hindi word “Shakti” to highlight the opposition’s struggle with state power.

“There is a word in Hindi ‘Shakti’ (power). We are fighting against Shakti (national power). The question is, what is Shakti and what does it mean to us? The soul and integrity of the EVM has been traded to Rahul Gandhi said in a statement. The address is in Mumbai.
