Royal Challengers Bangalore finally tasted success in franchise cricket as the Smriti Mandhana-led women’s side won the 2024 Women’s Premier League (WPL) title on Sunday. RCB’s victory against Delhi Capitals put Mandhana’s women’s team in the history books while the men’s team is still without a title in 16 years of participation in the IPL. While fans took to social media to congratulate RCB on their win, Rajasthan Royals shared a meme that set the internet ablaze.
In their post, Rajasthan Royals compared RCB Women’s championship win to a scene from a famous comedy TV show, “Tarak Mehta’s old glasses”. With this article, Royals seems to have taken a subtle dig at the RCB men’s team.
