Meghan Markle may not star in new Netflix show

Meghan Markle’s role in the upcoming Netflix series remains in question.

“We’re finally getting some progress from the Sussexes, and this development is all about brand,” Jane Barr said of the topic in her From Berkshires to Buckingham newsletter.

Barr also reported that the announcement was a “commitment for future activity on the Netflix platform” and did not involve American Riviera Orchards, a project that appears to have plateaued.

Ms Barr said Meghan did not appear to be the presenter. This is different from her first podcast, prototypeshe introduced her guests, then stepped aside.

“However, Deadline.com seems to believe Meghan will be the star of her Netflix show, so there is some confusion over what the show will include,” Ms. Barr said.

While Meghan Markle’s exact role remains controversial, Barr sided with Deadline Hollywood, arguing that if Meghan hosted the show it would “automatically attract baseline numbers.”

She said: “Netflix must know this and I think they’ll want her show to feature her prominently. We’ll see.
