Meet the UK sadhis in Ayodhya: a double PhD psychologist, a former biologist in the UK government

Ahead of the consecration ceremony of the idol of Lord Ram in the Ram temple on January 22, Ayodhya has become a confluence of devotees of Lord Ram not only from every corner of India but also from abroad. On Saturday, News18 met a group of girls wearing saffron clothes from London in Ayodhya.

Dr. Sadhvi Avakshi Bharti Double Ph.D. Are. Who worked as a psychologist in Britain before giving up everything to become a monk. St. Gabriel worked as a biologist with the UK government but retired at an early age. This is his first visit to Ayodhya and he last visited India as a child.

“We are all sadhvis and guru sisters. We are followers of His Holiness Maa Ashutoshmavari Ji,” says Dr Sadhvi Avakshi Bharti, as she flew in from London to come to Ayodhya and immerse herself in the darshan of Ram ki Pauri, Saryu river and Ram temple. He was also accompanied by Saint Gabriel from London, Sadhvi Pragya Bharti from Delhi, Sadhvi Jyoti Prabha Bharti and Sadhvi Pooja Bharti from Uttar Pradesh.

“I am here in Ayodhya to celebrate the consecration of Lord Ram. It’s a big day, it’s a day that changes the world. This is an unprecedented day for Sanatanis. For so many years, it has been a struggle to be able to celebrate my religion and my faith openly. Now we are getting the honor of doing so on the world stage. The whole world is here and we are getting a chance to have darshan of Ramlala,” Sadhvi Avakshi told News18.

Saint Gabrielle, who came with her from London, also says that it is her devotion towards Lord Ram that has brought her to Ayodhya. “The first thing that attracted me to India was that I needed a guru. I was lucky that I found a person in Maa Ashutoshwari Ji. Here in Ayodhya it is amazing, the energy and positivity is very high, everyone is talking about Lord Ram, and most of the time people are talking about the Ramayana and the Hindu culture, the Vedas and mantras that have inspired thousands of years and ages. Has guided us from. , It is great to see that there is this divine light that seems to be shining,” St. Gabriel told News18.

Sadhvi Pragya Bharti, another young sadhvi from Delhi, said it was a big change to see Lord Ram being shifted from a tent to a grand temple. “Ram is the master of the entire universe. As a disciple, we were praying for this divine moment and finally by the grace of Lord Ram the day has come,” he told News18. They are hoping to visit the new temple on January 23.
