Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended Eid greetings to people and prayed that the festival would spread the spirit of compassion, unity and peace.

“Wishing you all happiness and health. Eid!” Kerala and Ladakh will celebrate Eid on Wednesday, while the rest of the country will celebrate it on April 11, he said in X’s post.

Best wishes for Eid al-Fitr. May this event further spread the spirit of compassion, unity and peace. May everyone be happy and healthy. Eid Mubarak!

Eid-ul-Fitr marks the culmination of the fasting month of Ramzan.

Celebrated on different days around the world, this festival is determined by the appearance of the new moon, which is supposed to signify the beginning of the month of Shawal in the Islamic lunar calendar.
