Massive fire breaks out in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, killing 7 people, investigation still ongoing

Mumbai:

Seven people were killed in a major fire in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar today. Three women, two men and two children died in the fire, officials said.

Around 4 a.m., a fire broke out in a tailor shop, causing panic among nearby residents. Firefighters rushed to the scene and successfully extinguished the flames, but seven people have died so far.

Sambhaji Nagar police chief Manoj Lohiya said the fire started at Alam Tailor Shop. Residents live on the upper floors of the building. Although the fire did not spread to these living spaces, it is suspected that the victims may have died from smoke inhalation.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire. An autopsy has been ordered on the victim.
