Manipur: Five Meiteis killed, 4 BSF jawans injured in fresh violence; Reports reveal Myanmar rebels in the state

At least five civilians from the Meitei community were killed and four Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were injured in two separate incidents of violence that broke out in Manipur on Wednesday night and Thursday morning. State security adviser Kuldeep Singh said Myanmar-based terrorists were likely involved, but there was “no evidence” yet.

Apart from the incidents of violence, miscreants also attempted to loot weapons from police establishments in Thoubal district of the valley on Wednesday night and three BSF jawans sustained bullet injuries during the encounter. Manipur’s security advisor Kuldeep Singh said there were some intelligence reports about “insurgents operating in Moreh”.
