Authorities demolished illegal parts of a 20-year-old man’s house in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district after he was arrested on suspicion of raping and assaulting his female friend, an official said.

The accused, Aayan Khan, also injected an instant adhesive into the eyes of the 23-year-old woman, causing serious injuries to one of her eyes, the official said on Sunday.

He said authorities demolished the illegal portion of his house on Sunday.

On April 17, the woman reported to the police that she had been living with the defendant for 10 days. But when she proposed to him, he became violent, the woman claimed.

The accused allegedly verbally abused the woman, beat her with a belt and stuffed strong glue into her eyes, the official said, citing her complaint.

The man was arrested on April 18 with 60 liters of country liquor on his motorcycle.

A case has been registered against him for rape, assault and charges under the Excise Duty Act, police officials said, adding that authorities demolished the illegal portion of his house on Sunday.

An ophthalmologist at a private hospital in Guna who treated the woman said one of her eyes was seriously injured. She was admitted to Gwalior for advanced care, he added.
