Louis Tomlinson has broken his silence on conspiracy theories running rampant among One Direction fans regarding his alleged relationship with former bandmate Harry Styles.

In an interview with a Portuguese magazine, G1The 32-year-old singer admitted to being “annoyed” by the rumors, but admitted it was part of his job as a celebrity.

“I realized this years ago and there’s nothing I can say or do to eliminate believers in this conspiracy,” he told an interviewer.

“They are now so entangled with what they believe to be the truth that they cannot truly see the truth for what it is,” come back to you the singer explains. “It does annoy me a little bit, but I guess that’s the nature of the job.”

For those unfamiliar, Tomlinson and Styles have long sparked romance rumors due to their close relationship with each other during their time in the band.

The singer noted that the theories eventually became “a little bit unfair” when they started affecting his personal life and his 8-year-old son, Freddie.

“Sometimes things get very personal. I have my son Freddie. He is the most important person in my life. Occasionally, [these theories] Finally settling something that was a little unfair,” the One Direction alum said.

“This is what we have now. There’s nothing I can do about it. There’s nothing I can say to stop people from inventing what they want to invent. So, here it is,” he added.
