Little girl left in critical condition after dog attack in Cheltenham

A baby is in critical condition in hospital after being bitten by a dog at a home, police said.

Gloucestershire Police and paramedics were called to a property in the Hatherley area of ​​Cheltenham at around 6pm on April 14.

The girl, aged just under two, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Infirmary for treatment for her injuries.

She was later transferred to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, where she remains.

A police spokesman said the pet dog was large but not a prohibited breed.

They said the animal was seized by police and kept in a secure kennel while investigations continue.
